I find HJE70 to be better sounding than PL50, but they don't share the same sound signature. HJE70 is more v shaped while PL50 is more mid focused. As always, you want to be sure that the sound is what you want in the first place.

How do you think the HJE70 compares to the PL-50? ...

Unfortunately PL50 has a smaller nozzle than PL30, so the bi-flange won't fit securely on PL50. For single flange, I would suggest Sony Hybrid eartips (EPEX10A). For bi-flange, I would suggest getting a tri-flanges from Etymotic or Shure, then cut off the first flange to create you own bi-flange.

Hi, thanks for the detailed review on the pl50. Just wondering, based on your experience, are there any aftermarket ear tips that will fit the pl50? Something like the bi flanges that comes with the pl30 (noticed that the pl50 doesnt come with bi flanges). The bi flanges that come with the pl30 fit me perfectly and give me the best seal, just wondering if I would be able to get something like that for the pl50

Now I use it with Nokia 2700 Classic Phone and sansa Clip Plus.

On same music files, I notice background hissing/noise when played in Nokia while on Sansa it is not/hardly audible.

My question: Does hissing reveals that Nokia is capable of capturing the background noise in the track (and therefore its sound quality is better) or is hissing is an indication of poor sound quality?

I can't afford HE0 for sure.

But I can afford HE02 or PL50.

Any suggestions in terms of sound quality vis a vis Philips SHE 9850. I mainly listen to jazz, classical and instrumental music. If you have to choose between SHE 2 or PL50? Which will you choose?

Not sure about SHE9800, but SHE9850 is obviously better sounding than PL30. As for PL50, I consider it to be just a little better than SHE9850 - however, the performance is close enough that sound signature comes into play. SHE9850 is fairly balanced sounding with good performance on bass and treble, but PL50 is more mid centric and has a good vocal performance. So instead od saying PL50 is definitely better than SHE9850, I would rather say it gives a contrast and show you a different way of listening to your music. Whether you will consider it as a upgrade or not is really up to your own taste.

i think the new PL-50 which lets us use Shure Olives on it is the best move ever!I personally prefer using the Olives as my ear buds,ive been using olives with my Westone 3 ever since the first time i tried it,testing other ear foam tips just cant replace the olives lol. Anyways the birth of PL-50 would definitely be a storm. Hope my trust and faith in Soundmagic would stay on,so far so good my friend which i bought the PL-30 for him did complain a little about it compared to his previous earphones...hope this could replace the PL-30 i bought for him XD
